 Carved panel with original red lacquer which would have belonged to a government official or a wealthy family.The characters on the panel means that someone has reached 80 years of age, and if this elderly and wise person bestows hisor her blessings on a young person, the young person will be lucky for the rest of their lives. This panel was most probably hung over the gate at the 80th birthday party.
